Our Story:

Yogamala has been offering transformational life changing teachings internationally for over thirty years!

After being based in Israel, with world famous Yoga Teacher Trainings, we decided to make the jump to

Yoga Retreat at the heart of wild nature in 2024.  We found Rancho De Las Estrellas, an Eco community in Oaxaca, Mexico that felt like the right fit.

We built a house, a guest cabana, and an inspiring Yoga Shala then planted a food-forest around it.

We specialize in helping students make the small or large life changes and mental shifts that they are ready and eager to make in their lives. We embody the wisdom of a simpler way of life, in harmony with ourselves and nature utilizing the modalities of Yoga, Meditation, Natural Nutrition, Earthing, Digital Detox and Permaculture.

Sitting here today to write this bio, the first thing that I feel is the need to bow to my teachers both near and far- to offer gratitude to all those who have supported and guided me from suffering and ignorance to freedom and self realization. There is no greater work, no more blessed act in this life, as far as I can see. On the way through, over hurdles jumped, and challenges met, it also become my passion to be a beacon, a midwife in the spiritual process of giving birth to the awakened self. The joy experienced in the sacred space of presence when just calmly abiding with my students, for example, in silent seated meditation, is one of unparalleled peace and bliss. To hold space for this to unfold. To take up the invitation life offers in every moment. To see where the mind still seems to cloud matters. All these things are what teaching yoga and meditation mean to me and why being a spiritual teacher often feels like “the best job in the universe!” Born in Canada, I traveled in Asia for 8 years before settling in Israel for 26 years. I founded Yogamala, became a mother of boys, a surfer, a writer, a guitar player, a dancer with fire, a chef, a living lighthouse on spindly legs, a gypsy traveler, a jungle gardener and many other things that life asked me to be. My work is, perhaps the work of all willing souls, to be receptive to showing up for the moment in the most vibrant and available way, to take up the lighted flame of awareness and hold it high. To keep awakening and be of service to others in whatever way possible. I hope we soon will meet to experience this together.

I grew up in the completely secular society of an Israeli kibbutz, where the divine was not respected.
I didn’t question the societal norms, as I joined the army and served my obligatory 3 years. Post army, I went on to study Music for the next 3 years.

I gained a new perspective on my upbringing while recording in Germany with my band in 1995. That year, I met my spiritual teachers, through the trance channel Barbara Marciniak. writer of the revolutionary book Bringers of the Dawn. The main message of their teaching is: “your thoughts create your reality”! I have dedicated my life to exploring that idea and the myriad factors that can affect the materialization process. During the same period, I encountered the Seth material and delved into the spiritual idea that our soul takes on a temporary body in order to participate in 3d reality and evolve. At that time I had a deep yearning to remember my past lives, and through intention and meditation I remembered the death moments in 6 different lifetimes. The problem was that those deaths were so violent that I couldn’t take it and I shut the remembering process down. Today when I teach students about remembering past lives I advise them to intend to remember only things they can process. On my return from Germany, I stopped participating in all mandatory military reserve service. My mom’s death of Cancer in 2002, was to be another motivating force in my life. I begun studies in nutrition and health, suspecting that wrong information about the benefit of vegetable (specifically seed) oils and extensive herbicide exposure may have been the root cause for my mother’s early death before 60. When I returned to Germany in 2006 I experienced my first episode of severe anxiety, which propelled me on a 10 year journey to find a cure without using prescription drugs. This first acute episode lasted 14 days, some of the hardest of my life. After 10 years of studying this issue my last episode lasted only a few hours! Today I have proven tools to approach anxiety and I feel super empowered because of it. In 2007 I got intrigued by the work of Haim Omer – “Non-Violent Resistance: A New Approach to Violent and Self-destructive Children“, and used these ideas in a maintenance and repair position at a school for special ed kids, aged 7-15. I had tremendous success where others had none. Finally, after 5 years at that school, I left discouraged due to the widespread use of psychiatric drugs on the students, drugs which block personal growth. It became obvious to me that there is something really wrong with psychiatric medicine. At the same time I became acutely aware of my sensitive psychic abilities where I could “see” a certain child that was very upset through a building and feel his situation from afar. I would always corroborate the info by going to the other side of the building to confirm that I was correct. I teach this method for developing intuition and ESP in a grounded framework. Physical Health Challenges: For many years I had experienced intestinal problems. Meeting Anat Argaman, a natural health practitioner and student of Itzhak Ben Uri and the renowned Dr. Sheldon was my introduction to the world of natural health. Within one week of working with her, years of pain disappeared and I started teaching these proven methods widely. My Yoga and Meditation Journey Meditation has always been the stable backbone of my spiritual practice, but my life took a big turn in 2012 when I met my dear wife Roxi (Founder of Yogamala, Israel). I took my first Teacher Training at Yogamala with her and soon became Yogamala’s maintenance guy, advertising director, office manager and more. Since then I‘ve been giving yoga classes at Yogamala and instruction during Teacher Training on nutrition and health, cellular radiation, fasting and vaccines. I’d finally found a home where I could share what I’d learned from my teachers and my journey with others. It felt like a dream come true! Food forest and Growing food: At one point during these years, I planted a small garden, convinced that getting my hands in the dirt and growing some of our family’s food was the next right step. During one of our Teacher Trainings, we visited a food forest in Israel and I got totally inspired to create one too. I said to my wife, “I just want to plant trees for the rest of my life!” Yogamala, Mexico: Welcome to our new project! On the wildly natural Oaxacan coast of Mexico we’re co-creating a new earth based on ecology, harmony, conscious communication and cooperation. We believe in a world based in and on nature. We believe that life by definition is abundance. We believe that we are all one family. So our goal is to act from where we are – at home in the mind of God. Hope to welcome you here soon!
