Chacahua Island

Chacahua Island is a place out of this world!

It's a tiny Island at the mouth of the Lagunas de Chacahua.

It is rumored that African slave ships once sank off the coast of this beautiful long strip of beach which now attracts tourists, and surfers from around the world. Due to the fact that it isn't easy to get here, the surf breaks are relatively empty, which makes them a joy for surfers.

There are many beach restaurants, surf schools and cafés all with gorgeous views and tranquil atmosphere.

Swimming in the lagoon here, is a extra special treat.

Cerro Hermoso Beach

Where the Lagunas de Chacahua meets the Pacific Ocean , you'll find the open, wild, sandy beaches of the village of Cerro Hermoso.

In the mornings the lagoon can be turquoise and clear and a joy to dip into. Cerro is an authentic Mexican beach town with small seafood restaurants and plenty of fishermen. The perfect place for a long walk in the epic sunsets.
